We Are Spicy is a business with a purpose. We want to change the way neurodivergent people experience the neurotypical world of work, through education and training.
We have three guiding principles.
To positively champion the potential of the neurodivergent brain, both inside and outside our organisation.
Create a safe space for neurodivergent, and neurotypical, professionals to flourish and grow.
Use the very best of our 'neuro-spiciness' to always do our very best work for our clients, and do it with good humour, humility and authenticity.
Originally founded as a marketing, media and creative agency, the We Are Spicy leadership team are all neurodivergent individuals and have collectively experienced challenges fitting in with, and adapting to, the neurotypical world of work.
It's a highly stressful experience for neurodivergent individuals to appear as normal as possible in the neurotypical workplace, and this "masking" is literally exhausting, leading many neurodivergent employees to experience higher rates of burn out and mental health issues. Not to mention the unconscious bias, negative judgement and discrimination.
And so, as well as changing the workplace for themsleves and their own employees, the We Are Spicy team wants to change it for everyone else as well.
